As the World Goes Dark

AS THE WORLD GOES DARK

A darker world is

Harder to watch and

yet we do, become calloused

steady flow of evil with unintended

Consequences, Unseen rip currents

Sucking dry the banks Of people drowning

feet dug into the sand To stand firm

Convinced now the seal of Christ

Is this, to, despite the Broken

world, and In the face of

flames fanned by

imposed leaders

Remain tender

Abounding

in love

and joy

and hope

Easy when well

Unnatural now

to live life this way

Singing into the abyss

A testimony of suffering well

Bearing the burdens of others

With peace that passes understanding

Songs of glory, songs of praise

That abundant wellspring

The spirit of Jesus inside

A beacon in the black

Greater contrast now

Light a narrow path

To an open door

Escape
